Wilf
Goes Skiing
Cross the road. Hire your skis. Get down in one piece. A retro arcade skiing game for iPhone, and a love letter to an 8 bit classic of 1982 I played to death on my Spectrum.
A skiing game about money
Wilf has forty coins and no sense of danger. Every day starts at the roadside, so before you touch any snow you have to get across four lanes of traffic to reach the ski shop. Get it wrong and the ambulance takes a cut, and it charges more as the days go by.
Skis are hired, not owned. Better skis are faster and take more hits before they break, if you can afford them. Run out of money and that is the run, which makes every descent a decision about how much risk you can pay for.

Carve the piste
Slalom gates to thread, moguls to soak up, ice that washes a carve wide, snowballs rolling down behind you and rocks coming off the walls. Miss a gate and you lose points. Hit a tree and you lose a ski.
Day one is gentle on purpose. By day five the mountain is as steep and as crowded as it ever gets, and it keeps stacking trees, rocks and fragility on top of that for as long as you survive.

Fly the canyon
Trade the skis for a wingsuit and throw yourself down a gorge instead. Rings to fly through, stone needles to miss, walls that bite if you lean on them, and a landing target at the bottom that pays for precision.
Skim the deck and the scoring rewards you for every second you hold it, right up until the ground catches a wingtip.

Made by one person
The game, the engine underneath it and the mountain it generates are all written from scratch in Rust. No ads, no analytics, no accounts, and no code in it that talks to the internet at all. Game Center leaderboards keep your best run and your longest run of days.
The wingsuit is a single in app purchase. Everything else is in the game from the start.

For support
Something broken, a purchase gone missing, or a question about the game? One person makes this, so you are writing to the person who can fix it. I reply within 24 to 48 hours.
