Ballistic Defence 2

Missiles are raining down on your cities, and all that stands in the way is you, three missile batteries and your thumb. The arcade game it always was, rebuilt from scratch, and now with a campaign in 3D.

The classic, just as it was

If you ever played Missile Command, you already know what to do. Tap the sky, up goes a missile, and the blast takes out anything near it. Get the timing right and one blast sets off the next.

It doesn't stay fair for long. Missiles split on the way down, the smart ones dodge your explosions, and every so often a mothership turns up and lasers a city flat. Yes, there are aliens. How long can you keep the lights on?

New: the campaign, in 3D

The campaign takes the fight to a whole city, one sector at a time, from the Harbour at midday to Last Light at dawn. Every sector has something new to throw at you, and every one ends with a boss.

You don't just shoot a boss down, you take it apart. Knock out its guns, its engines, whatever it's fighting with, until the core is open, then hit it with everything you've got. There are five of them, and the last one is a nasty piece of work.

Every boss leaves you something

Bring one down and you keep a new toy for the rest of the campaign. A rail shot that cuts straight through whatever's in its way. Drones that do some of the shooting for you. A field that slows the whole sky down. An extra battery, and a shield over the city.

Beat all five and Endless opens up, which is exactly what it sounds like. It has its own leaderboard, so you can see how you stack up.

Made by one person

Ballistic Defence 2 first came out in 2019. This version is rebuilt from scratch, on a game engine I wrote myself, and the adverts are gone for good. No tracking, no accounts, nothing to wait for.

The classic and the Harbour are free. One purchase unlocks the rest of the campaign, and that's it, there's nothing else for sale. And if you bought No Ads in the old version, you're sorted: the whole campaign is already yours.
